Texas Conference for Women Scholarships
Each year, the Texas Conference for Women, thanks to the generosity of its sponsors, awards six $5,000 scholarships to outstanding female college students who balance academics, service, and leadership to make a difference in the community. One scholarship is given in each of the following categories:

The award provides funding for tuition, living expenses, required fees and books. Antioch University Women's Studies Abroad

Since its beginning in 1985 Antioch Education Abroad's Women's Studies program has offered students a unique opportunity to examine and compare international feminist issues. The combination of lectures, seminars, and fieldwork with European feminist leaders, students, workers, artists, and professionals brings our students out of the classroom and into the midst of the feminist movement within four European countries. Student Activists Work in the Real World through The Union Semester

A program sponsored by Queens College and the New York City Central Labor Council provides students with an opportunity to continue their college work while simultaneously gaining "real life" experience in working for social justice. Union Semester students work full-time with a union or union-affiliated community organization and attend Labor Studies classes during evening hours. For their efforts, they are awarded a weekly stipend of $210 and a $1,700 scholarship. The scholarship covers full tuition for New York state residents and half the tuition for out-of-state students. Students interested in social justice work are strongly encouraged to apply. American Association of University Women (AAUW) 

Selected Professions Fellowships

• For women who intend to pursue a full-time course of graduate study in a degree program in which women's participation traditionally has been low (Architecture, Computer/Information Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics.)

• Fellowships in Business Administration, Law, and Medicine, restricted to women of color who are underrepresented in these fields.

Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellowships

• Available to women public school teachers, K-12. Professional Development Fellowships, Project Implementation Grant, and Dissemination Grants.

White House Fellows

Since 1964 the White House Fellowships have offered outstanding young Americans the opportunity to participate in the day to day business of governing the nation. After a highly competitive selection process, 11 to 19 men and women are chosen to serve for a year as White House Fellows. The fellowship year runs from September 1 through the next August. Each Fellow works full time as a special assistant to a Cabinet member or senior presidential advisor and also participates in an education program designed to nurture his or her development as a leader. Applications are due February 1.

Offers a new grant available to advanced undergraduate or masters' degree students and their faculty advisors to help fund research aligned with the mission of Melpomene: to provide new knowledge that will instruct, motivate and inspire women or girls to become or stay physically active.

American Association of University Women (AAUW)

Career Development Grants and Community Action Grants

Career Development Grants are available for women who have a bachelor's degree and who are re-entering the work force, advancing careers, or changing careers. Community Action Grants provide seed money to individual women and organization for specific projects.

The Ford Foundation

A fundamental challenge facing every society is to create political, economic and social systems that promote peace, human welfare and the sustainability of the environment on which life depends. The Ford Foundation is one source of support for these activities. We work mainly by making grants or loans that build knowledge and strengthen organizations and networks. Since our financial resources are modest in comparison to societal needs, we focus on a limited number of problem areas and program strategies within our broad goals.
